Natalie (Wallace) Perdomo, formerly of Signal Mountain, and now living in North Chattanooga, was inducted into the University of the South Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, along with the other members of the 1999 womens' tennis team.

In her four years at Sewanee, Perdoma and her teammates appeared in the NCAA Championships each year.  The 1999 team Hall of Fame inductees compiled a 22-4 record earning a 5th place NCAA tournament finish and seventh place national ranking.

Perdoma's record that year in singles was 10-1. She left Sewanee with the seventh all-time highest winning percentage in womens' tennis.

Sewanee tennis coach, John Shackleford, during the induction ceremony, recounted a memorable victory when Natalie drew a much stronger, returning All-American from a much bigger university and “left her sitting on the court in tears wondering what had just happened.”

At GPS, she was an annual selection to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps girls' tennis team and was a state champion in doubles her senior year.

Perdoma and her husband, Peter, reside in North Chattanooga with their two daughters, Millie and Ada.
