Mardis Is Named Principal At Coahulla Creek High School

  • Friday, September 12, 2014
Beginning Monday, Tracy Mardis will lead Coahulla Creek High School as the school's principal as Stanley Stewart moves to assist at the district level.

The Georgia Department of Education and state legislature introduced many changes that are taking effect this school year. Those changes range from the new Georgia Milestones assessments to Teacher Keys and Leader Keys Effectiveness System.

"With so many changes this school year, we wanted more support to help all of our staff adjust to the changes," Whitfield County Schools Superintendent Judy Gilreath said.
"Dr. Stewart's years of experience in a wide variety of school environments makes him a great candidate to support the district's additional needs this year."

Mr. Mardis came to Coahulla Creek this year as an assistant principal after most recently leading Westside Elementary as principal for 10 years. He has also been an elementary teacher and assistant principal. This is his 19th year with Whitfield County Schools.
