History Center Presents Walking Tour In Renaissance Park Sept. 30

  • Thursday, September 11, 2014

The Chattanooga History Center will begin its new Director's Series with a walking tour, Renaissance Park: Historically Speaking, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. The Director's Series features programs lead, as instructor, lecturer, or tour guide, the CHC's Executive Director Dr. Daryl Black.

This tour will begin at the pavilion building beside the Renaissance Park parking lot on  Manufacturers' Road. The fee is $10 per person (CHC members $5). Pre-registration is required, and the deadline is Monday, Sept. 29.

Renaissance Park sits on a site that was important to three distinctly different experiences in  Chattanooga's history. Join Dr. Black as he looks at the Cherokee, the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War, and the manufacturing that shaped Chattanooga's industrial identity.

For more information, or to register, call 265-3247 or e-mail Senior Educator Caroline Sunderland
