Shaneyfelt, Margaret Elizabeth Virtue (Old Fort)

Margaret Elizabeth Virtue Shaneyfelt, 96, of Old Fort, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at her home. 

Margaret was born in Lebanon, IN on July 20, 1918 to the William Albert and Elizabeth Milliken Virtue. She was member of First Lutheran Church of Cleveland, TN. Margaret was an accomplished artist that enjoyed drawing,  working with oil paints and pottery. She also loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wallace Shaneyfelt; and one son, Joel Martin Shaneyfelt. 

Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory eight children and their spouses, Margo Jo Wilson, William Robert Shaneyfelt, Cecelia Bea Coggins, Betty Alyce Finch, Shirley Ann Cook, Thomas Wayne Shaneyfelt, Jon David Shaneyfelt and Ted Virtue Shaneyfelt; 21 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends. 

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, September 4 at the First Lutheran Church located at 195 McIntire Street in Cleveland, TN at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Seaton officiating. Margaret will be interred at a later date next to late husband Robert in Hilo, HI.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, September 4 from 10-11 a.m. 

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
