Joan Mortlock Burner, 83, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Chattanooga Health Care facility.
She was born on November 28, 1931 in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada. She was a retired Registered Dietician with the State of Tennessee and worked at the Bradley County Health Department. Joan was a faithful member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and she was an active member of the Emmaus Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, “Bert” Mortlock and Kathleen Mortlock; and her husband of 57 seven years, Jim Burner.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Burner and wife Trudi; her daughter, Judy Weir and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Jacob Weir, Mac Weir and wife Melinda, Christy Edgemon and husband Philip and Megan Eddings; her great-granddaughter, Lily Edgemon; her brother, Tom Mortlock; and sister, Kay LeBrun.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Monday, September 1, at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 1.
