Phillip Johnson, Sr.

Phillip R. Johnson, Sr., 80, of Signal Mountain, joined his wife, Allison, in Heaven, on Friday, August 29, 2014. 

A native of Nashville, he resided on Signal Mountain for most of his life. Retired from 3-M and TVA, Phillip was a member of Signal Crest United Methodist Church and was active in the Signal Mountain Lions Club.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an Eagle Scout and a previous Scout Master of Troop 116.  

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Phillip is survived by his daughters: Susan (Jim) Seiler, Lucinda (Corey) Millard; sons: Phillip R. (Kim) Johnson Jr., John G. (Diana) Johnson, and William A. (Helen) Johnson; sister: Betty Hobgood; sister-in-law: Syble Johnson; and seven grandchildren. 

Private family burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Signal Crest United Methodist Church with Reverend Dale Wyrick and Reverend Charles Maynard officiating.  A reception will follow the service in Fellowship Hall.

The family would also like to recognize the staff at the Manor House and Hospice of Chattanooga for all their help and support.
