Steven Douglas Sweet, 85, of Sweetwater, TN, died Sunday, August 17, 2014.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a resident of Sweetwater most of his life, and lived in Ten Mile, TN for the last 29 years. Steve worked as a farmer all his life and raised three kids. He will forever live in the hearts of those who love him.
He was the son of the late Edd and Della Sweet; and was also preceded in death by brothers C.L, Marion, Clifford, James and Oscar Lee Sweet; and son-in-law Ross Lankford.
He is survived by his son, Larry Sweet and girlfriend Sheila Powers; daughters, Sheila Lankford and Betty Goforth and her husband Jack; grandchildren, Sue Lankford Gregory and husband Terry, Crystal Lankford Linebarger and husband Jon, all of Ten Mile and Jeremy Lankford, of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Angel Richesin, Alyssa Linebarger, LaTosha Gregory, Austin Gregory, Diamond Lankford; brothers and sisters, Melvin Sweet and wife Ethel Mae, Sarah Sweet McLemore and husband Gene, Betty Sweet Ledford and husband Doug, Mary Lee Sweet Miller and husband James, Martha Lou Sweet McNabb and husband Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on B wing at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.
