Something strange has been happening over the past two days in the Southern League.
Friday night it was the SL North Division's first-place Tennessee Smokies who received a severe thrashing from the Jacksonville Suns, 18-1. Meanwhile, the Lookouts were stomping the Jackson Generals, 7-3.
The Lookouts did some thumping of their own Saturday as they moved to just one-game out of first place beating the Generals, 15-4. Chattanooga collected 22 hits (34 hits) in the past two games at Jackson while scoring 22 runs.
Saturday night the Suns were at it again, beating up on the Smokies, 15-7; that's 33 runs in two games!
The Generals and Lookouts have three more games at Jackson before Chattanooga returns home Thursday, August 28, to begin their final homestand against the Smokies in what could be for the second-half title of the SL North Division.
