Douglas "Chad" Brown

Douglas "Chad" Brown, 32, of Fort Oglethorpe, was born August 26, 1981, and died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

Chad was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, but most importantly, he had renewed his faith on July 23, and testified to everyone. Chad had many friends in his life, but the closest was his relationship and friendship with his brother, Herbie. Chad had many hobbies, but the greatest was entertaining his nephew, Drew and nieces, Paisley and Kayleigh. They put the sunshine in his eyes. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewayne Brown and step-grandfather, J.B. Long, Jr.

Chad is survived by a long list of family: his mother and step-father, Sue and (Jeff) Long of Fort Oglethorpe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbie and (Misty) Brown of Chickamauga, and Jonathan and (Nikki) Long of Fort Oglethorpe; brother, Michael; two sisters, Kaye and Kellye; grandparents, Lewis & Betty Brown; grandmother, Midge Long; aunts, Connie and (Doug) King, Linda and (Richard) Yancy and Kathy and (Rick) Barthel; uncle, Charlie Brown; two nephews, Easton Long and Drew Brown; two nieces, Paisley Brown and Kayleigh McGraw; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Brown, Jr. officiating. Chad will be laid to rest beside his father at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will begin receiving friends from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, all day Sunday, and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

An online guest book is available at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements are by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe.
