Carolyn Grandin
Carolyn Juanita Grandin, 85, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
She was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Chattanooga, to the late Josiah Woodard Grandin and Mary Hastey Grandin.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Inez Grandin Theobold and Betty Grandin Hood, niece, Sandra Theobold, and a nephew, Joseph Walter Theobold.
She was a member of St. Thaddaeus’ Episcopal Church. Ms. Grandin was retired from TVA, where she worked in human resources. She was a graduate of Brenau College. She loved to golf, read and play scrabble.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Christopher John Theobold, Mary Emily Theobold, Eugene Raymond Theobold, Jr., Robin (Peggy) Hood, David (Debbie) Hood and Jamie Hood; grand nieces Ella Sing Theobold, Farrah Hood Cusamato, Nichole Hood Thompson, Lauren Hood, Mandy Hood Fox and Lisa Simmons; grandnephews, David Alan Hood, Jr., John Alan Hood, Michael James Hood and Timmy Simmons.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. Thaddaeus’ Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, and from 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
