A bicyclist who was hit by a BMW BX3 in North Chattanooga has filed a $250,000 lawsuit.
Joel Hunt sued Julian B. Bell III and his daughter, driver of the BMW.
In the incident last Aug. 23, the suit says the driver "approached the intersection at Frazier Avenue and Tremont Street. The BMW proceeded through the intersection hitting Mr. Hunt's bicycle knocking Mr. Hunt off his bicycle to the ground.
"Defendant's actions were reckless, grossly negligent and generally negligent, and these actions were 100 percent the proximate and legal cause of the collision."
The bicyclist said he suffered severe injuries, including a fractured left wrist, left arm fracture, fractured nose and several contusions.
The suit was filed in Circuit Court by attorneys Gary Massey and Danny Ellis.
