Dalton Police Seek Stolen Debit Card Suspect

  • Tuesday, August 19, 2014

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying a suspect who used a stolen debit card to rack up nearly $450 in fraudulent purchases.

The victim reported losing her bank card at the Walnut Express gas station at 2524 East Walnut Avenue and found the fraudulent purchases after she realized the card was missing.

The fraud cases were reported to police last Tuesday, and took place on Aug. 10. Investigators determined that the stolen card was used twice at the Kangaroo Express on Walnut Avenue, the O’Charley’s and Red Lobster restaurants on Walnut Avenue for purchases totaling $446.17.

An investigator recovered surveillance video from the Kangaroo Express service station that showed a white man wearing a white tank top T-shirt using the card. He was with another man in a black shirt.  On one occasion he arrived in a silver passenger car and on another he arrived in a white Toyota 4-Runner.

Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706 278-9085, extension 189.
