Howell, Mildred Mary "Pete" (Summerville)

Mildred Mary “Pete” Howell, 92, of Summerville, GA, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Howell was born in Trion, GA on November 21, 1921, to the late Pryor Star Black and Ona Brown Black. She attended the Ridgeway Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed as a seamstress at Best Manufacturing. 

Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Denver “Dee” Howell; son, Bobby Howell; sisters, Joann Brewer and Opal McWhorter; and a brother, Jerry Black.

Mrs. Howell is survived by a granddaughter, Melody Whitfield; a brother, Alfred, a sister, Corky; special nephew, Chris Ray; and a number of additional nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services will be held Sunday, August 17, at 2 p.m. in the family plot of Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Waydell Howell officiating.

There will be no visitation prior to the graveside services.

Coffman Funeral Home, Petitt Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
