Martha JoAnn Thompson Huddleston died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. 

Jo was born June 23, 1924.  She was the daughter of Milo and Hattie Cate Thompson.  She was married to Frank Preston Huddleston for over 64 years. 

Jo was a charter member, along with her husband, of Ashland Terrace Christian Church which she faithfully attended for over 50 years, serving in various capacities.  She will be remembered for her quick wit, her wonderful cooking and her gracious hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, J. E. and Tommy Thompson; sister, Bettye Hamby; and her grandson, Joel David Huddleston.

Survivors include her son, Howard “Happy” Huddleston and wife, Melanie; daughter, Julia Huddleston Branum and her husband, Jay; grandchildren, Jon and Jimmy Huddleston and Jason, Josh and Jack Branum; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Cheryl, Jessica and Faydra, for their personal attention and excellent care.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, at Ashland Terrace Christian Church with Reverend Brad McDowell and Reverend Phil Summerlin officiating, with one hour visitation before the service also at the church.  Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Terrace Christian Church, 915 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415 or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
