Lane, Betty (Cleveland)

Betty Lane, 80, of Cleveland, TN, passed away early Thursday morning, July 31, 2014 in a local health care facility surrounded by her family. 

Mrs. Lane was the daughter of the late Ethel M. Gordan Williams and Winfred Lee Williams; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray D. Lane; and her brother, Aaron Lee Williams.

Mrs. Lane was retired from Cleveland Community Hospital with over 14 years of service in housekeeping. She loved to Crotchet and sew. She would also help her husband with any carpentry work he was doing. She would often use the C. B. Radio and her handle was “Lady Nail Driver”. Mrs. Lane attended the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Darrell Lane and Robert Lane and his wife Arlene all of Cleveland; her grandson, David Lane of Cleveland; her granddaughter, Edelyn Lane of Seattle, WA; her great- granddaughter, Jazasia Francisco also of Seattle; her sisters, Dorothy Ward of Cleveland and Ruthie Mohan and her husband Hansarm of Dalton; her brother, Gale Williams of Benton; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn Lane, Mary Morgan, Willie Brock and her husband Ed and Allen Lane and his wife Sally all of Cleveland; his nieces and nephews, Antonio Mohan, Linda Braden, Jeannie Gadd, David Williams, Junior Williams, Robert Williams, Shalanda Mohan and Darryl Bishop; and host of great- nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, August 2, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers. 

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, August 3 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
