Alvin Houston Johnson, 85, of Pikeville, TN, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014.
He attended Sampson Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anas Lee (Watson) Johnson; parents, Orie and Anna (Curtis) Johnson; son, Trent Johnson; brothers, Orie Johnson, Jr., Milton Dion Johnson and Myrlan Johnson; and a sister, Juanita Johnson.
Survivors include his son, David (Linda) Johnson, San Diego, CA; daughters, Kathy Johnson and Deborah (Jennings) Bilbrey; brother, Wayford (Evelyn) Johnson; sisters, Shirley (Junior) Hankins and Darlene (Carlos) Smith, all of Pikeville and Rowena (Kenneth) Rhodes of Graysville; ten grandchildren; 18+ great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
A Celebration of Alvin’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 31 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Hubert Davis and Bro. Bill Montandon officiating. Burial will be in the Blackburn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. at Pikeville Funeral Home on Wednesday July 30.
