Harris, Kathleen Bramel (Cleveland)

Kathleen Bramel Harris, 93, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 in a local health care facility. 

She made jewelry and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was of Methodist faith. She retired after 26 years of service from the Bradley County School System. She taught English for over 25 years prior to her service in Bradley County School System. She also taught English and Art at Bradley Jr, High School and served as a Vice Principal in the Hamilton County School System. She received her EDS and Masters of Education from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. She was a member of the Cleveland Rotary Club and served on the Board of the Cleveland Public Library. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Bramel; husband, David J Harris, Sr.; and son, Brian Wood Harris. 

She is survived by her son, David Jerome “Jerry” Harris of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Mike Harris and wife, Holly of Cleveland and Christie Harris Smith and husband, Andy of Cleveland; and four great-grandchildren, William A. Smith, Kennedy Smith, Gavin Harris and Olivia Harris. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Plowman Cemetery, Apison, TN.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at the Grissom Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
