Roy Shelby
Roy Walter Shelby, 66, of Rossville, died on Sunday, July 26, 2014.
He had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from TVA in 1989 after more than 15 years of service. He truly loved sports and was a TSSAA Sports official for more than 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Petty Oscar Shelby; sister, Betty Lockman and niece, Jessica Jones Revis.
Survivors include his mother, Juanita Bizzoco of Rossville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Pitszenbarger of Rossville, Lucy and (Melvin) Smith of Harrison, Tn., and Inez and (Doug) Hall of Chickamauga; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and (Jane) Shelby of Rock Spring, Ga.; two great-nieces, Kelsey and Kylee Gilley; beloved dog, Chloe and numerous extended nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Chuck Higdon officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Monday, July 28, and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
