Leonard Dee Smith, 79, of Cleveland, departed his earthly home on Thursday, July 10.
He was born August 18, 1934 to Oliver and Lillie Kelley Smith of Coker Creek, Tn. He moved to Cleveland 60 years ago to build a loving, happy life with family and friends. He was a retiree from Jackson Mfg. Co. after many years of service. While at Jackson, he formed many cherished friendships.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, a short 15 months ago, his parents, three brothers, Earl, Austin and Elmo Smith; two sisters-in-law and mother-in-law Lola D. Evans whom he loved dearly and she returned that love in abundance.
He is survived by a loving son, Stacy D. Smith; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Wanda) Evans, Gary (Teresa) Evans; sister-in-law, Brenda Evans; nieces, Mamie Sue Witt, Megan Antuna (AJ); nephew, Barry (Jennifer) Evans; great-nieces and nephew, Lola and Jaxson Antuna and Brenley Evans; they loved him so, called him “Paw-Paw Lenny”. Special friends, H. C. and Chris Ledford they brought him his favorite foods and blessed him with their friendship.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 14, from 5–8 p.m., in Cleveland Christian Church.
The Reverend Guinn Green will conduct the graveside service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, in Old Coker Creek Cemetery in Monroe County, Tn.
Pallbearers will be Rick Houlk, Alex Lawson, Andrew Lawson, A. J. Antuna and honorary pallbearer will be Jaxson Antuna.
