Man Arrested After Using Toy Gun to Scare Girlfriend

  • Thursday, July 10, 2014

A Chattanooga man was arrested after police said he used a fake gun to threaten his girlfriend.

The woman, believing it was real, was scared for her and her child's life and called police.

She told police she had been in an argument with Travis Streeter, 46, when all of a sudden, he pulled out the gun.

She said he began waiving it at her while he yelled. She told police he pushed her and threatened to kill her.

As soon as she called police, Streeter fled.

The woman said she watched him drop the gun off by a laudromat.

Police found the weapon exactly where she said it would be and discovered it was, in fact, fake.

Because it was presented as being real, police found Streeter and arrested him for aggravated assault.
