The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has obtained an indictment for a McMinn County man accused of illegally possessing a gambling device at a bar he owns.
At the request of 10th District Attorney General Steven Bebb, TBI special agents began investigating David Thomas Ingle on March 6. Ingle owns the “Double O” on Highway 30 in Athens. On March 12, special agents executed a search warrant at Ingle’s business, during which they seized two video poker machines.
On May 20, the McMinn County Grand Jury returned an indictment for the 54-year-old, charging him with one count of possession of a gambling device. On Wednesday, Ingle turned himself into the McMinn County Justice Center, where he was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
The case remains active and ongoing, with the possibility of additional arrests in the future.
