Terry Farmer
Terry Farmer, 67, of Chattanooga, died on April 4, 2014.
Terry was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Chattanooga. He was a veteran of the United States military, having served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. He continued his civil service as a criminal investigator with the Internal Revenue Service from 1972 until 1974, when he began his career with the United States Secret Service, retiring in 1999. Terry was proud of his opportunity to serve his country in various capacities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T J and Ruby Farmer; his brother, Thomas Farmer; and his niece, Karen Wann. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Clay and Lena Farris of Cookeville.
Terry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Farris), and their children, Matt (Kim) Farmer and Virginia Farmer; five grandchildren, Justin, Logan, Cole, Monica, and Dustin; his brother, Gary Farmer; his nephews, Tommy (Jill), Marty, and Gary Alan Farmer; niece, Cathy (Jerry) Davis ; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, April 7.
Services will be held on April 8, at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel with Gary Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the Cunningham Cemetery in Cookeville at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
The family will receive friends at Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville on Tuesday, April 8, from 4-8 p.m.
