Hubert Hawkins
Hubert Lee Hawkins, 81, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia died on Thursday, April 24, 2014.
A native of Rising Fawn, he had lived in the Catoosa County area for more than 65 years. He was a retired employee of Standard Coosa Thatcher where he worked for more than 30 years and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church where he formerly served as deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Ruth Allen Hawkins; parents, Samuel Howard and Pearl Virginia Forester Hawkins and three brothers, Robert, Howard and Stephen Hawkins.
He is survived by four children, Selina Hawkins Denham (Wayne) of Ooltewah, Sharon Bridges Cripps (L.C.) of Tunnel Hill, Phillip Bridges (Wanda) of Tunnel Hill, and Gary Bridges (Nita) of Rocky Face; three sisters, Mary Jo Lewis (Lester) of Ringgold, Gladys Williams of Ringgold, and Kathryn McCulley (Gary) of Chatsworth; three grandchildren, Stacy Cripps McAlister (Harold), Brett Cripps (Amy) and Shannon Bridges, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Lillard Stringer officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, from 4-9 p.m., and Saturday until funeral time at the funeral home.
