Renee Card Monroe, 60, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2014 along with her precious grandchildren, Reagan and Jaxson Cohen.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Renee was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church where she helped lead a small Bible study group.

Mrs. Monroe was an entrepreneur in Home Décor with Merchants on Main and The Galleries at Southside.   She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority at UTC.

Renee was first and foremost a wife, Momma and Nana.  Her loving touch knew no bounds, reaching out to those in need as she had been a generous supporter of many local ministries.

She brightened the lives and filled the hearts of all who knew her.  She was a creative, joyful servant of Jesus.  She was a heavenly treasure and a Proverbs 31 woman.   No one who knew her ever doubted how much she loved them and she left this world a far better and richer place than she found it.

Her friends and family hold tight to the hope we have in our Savior Jesus Christ that she is rejoicing in heaven and someday we will be rejoicing with her.

Renee is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charlie Monroe;  her daughters, Tiffany (Keith) Askew, Apison and Rachel (Brian) Cohen, Jericho, N.Y.;  her sons, Zach (Emily) Monroe and Lucas (Kelly) Monroe,  both of Chattanooga; her parents, Roy and Virginia Card, Chattanooga; two brothers,  Brian (Terry) Card, Elder Mountain and Brad (Paula) Card, Hixson; eight grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Bill Spencer officiating.   A private family burial will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Renee Monroe Memorial Fund @ The Generosity Trust for the benefit of Christian Ministries and Causes in the Chattanooga area,  736 Market Street, Suite 1402, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 23, from 4-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home,  7454 E. Brainerd Road.
