GPS 7th Grader Kit Turner Wins State DAR Award For Historical Essay

Kit Turner, a seventh grader at GPS, was selected by the Chickamauga Chapter of the DAR and later by the state chapter of Tennessee to receive an award for her historical essay. Her essay described the siege of Savannah during the American Revolution from the point of view of a young girl living there.

Lee Parham represented the Chickamauga Chapter at the state convention.
