Active Volunteer Throughout Her Life And Was An Avid Quilter

Viola Walker Burns, 84, of Ooltewah, Tennessee died on Saturday, April 19, 2014.

She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where she had worked with the WMU and vacation Bible schools. Throughout her life she volunteered many hours at nursing homes and helping the sick. She was also an avid quilter.

She was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Carrie Walker; husband, Paul Burns, Sr.; son, Paul “Tubby” Burns, Jr.; sisters, Juanita, Lula and Willie and brother, Tom Gibson.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Keyana Burns of Ooltewah and Ashley (Adam) Foust of Birchwood; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Hailee Foust; daughters-in-law, Vickie Burns of Ooltewah; special niece, Janet Hughes of Harrison; niece, Barbara Garcia of California and several other nieces and nephews.

The Reverend Mack Arnold will conduct the graveside service at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, in Sylar Cemetery in Ooltewah.
