Richard McBride
Richard James McBride, 60, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Richard was a selfless man of vibrant faith who loved and served his family, church and community.
Richard retired from the police department in Dunedin, Fl. He worked more than 10 years as an investigator in the Special Investigation Unit for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Richard was an active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a former member of St. Stephens Catholic Church. He was third degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was involved in RCIA. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, James Edward McBride.
Richard is survived by his wife, Marilyn McBride; sons, James and Jeremiah McBride; daughter, Jennifer McBride Cook; mother, Jacqueline McBride; siblings, Chris Dobey, Cindy Pike, Tim McBride, Colleen Hurley; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The receiving of friends will be on Monday, April 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.
A funeral mass for Richard will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy.
Private interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Richard’s name to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and/or to Catholic Charities.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
