Fire Damages Residence In Bonny Oaks Section; Turtle Rescued

A fire damaged a home in the Bonny Oaks section on Thursday evening.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to 4099 Alexis Circle. It took five companies about 10 minutes to get the fire under control.

The fire was contained to one room of the house with heavy damage to that second-story bedroom.

There was fire coming from the bedroom over the garage when the first units arrived.

Heather Whaley said there was a small fire in the office area over the garage.

Firefighters rescued a turtle from the house.

No one was injured.

Damage was put at $8,000.
