Kenneth Beets
Kenneth Earl Beets, 84, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at a local hospital.
Mr. Beets was a native of Clinton, Tn., and had lived the past 33 years in Chattanooga. Mr. Beets was a retired United States Navy veteran having served during Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the military, Mr. Beets worked as a security guard at Mueller Company, U.S. Pipe, and Brach Candy with over 15 years of service. His passions in life were his family and watching all kinds of sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Franklin Beets, Sr. and Janie Foust Beets; brother, Floyd Franklin Beets, Jr.; and sister, Mary Nell Crawford.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Evelyn Phillips Beets; step-children, Debbie Harris, Joe Oliver, Barney Oliver, and Patricia Case; brother, Jimmy Beets; sister, Betty Black; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Darrell Smith officiating. Military honors will be performed.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 20, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
