Donald Sturdivant, 46, of Athens, TN, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at a Chattanooga hospital.
The son of the late Mize and Cozella Furdge Sturdivant, he was born in Chicago, IL and had spent the last 20 years in Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing, watching boxing and cowboy movies, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of The Lighthouse Church in Charleston.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Melanie Martin Sturdivant of Athens; children, Kenny Martin of Athens, Donavan Sturdivant of Athens and Raven Sturdivant of Athens; grandson, Kameron Prince Lowery of Athens; siblings, Essie Trowder and husband Lorenzo of Chicago, Velma Richardson of Chicago, Anita Harrison and huband Keith of Chicago, Brenda Sturdivant of Chicago, Melvin Sturdivant and wife Kim of Athens, Byron Furdge of Chicago, Viki Sturdivant of Chicago; a special niece, Vaquita Clement and husband William of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
