Longtime Interior Design Business Owner

Carl Everett McAlister, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died peacefully, with his adored wife Robbie by his side, on April 15, 2014.

Carl owned a residential interiors business called Floorcoverings Inc. and River Interiors, which was known from 1948 to the 1990’s as the premier interior design firm in Chattanooga. He also loved sports and played baseball with a traveling team as a young man. Carl was always there to help friends when they needed him.  He was a distinguished member of the OSS and World War II veteran. 

Carl is survived by his wife, Robbie of 67 years; son, Stanley; daughters, Carla, Ruthanna and Myra; grandchildren, Ryan, Ellen, Alia, Justin, Brandon, Virginia, Jessie and great-grandchildren, Jetta Faye, Helena, Myra, Tessa and Rylee as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Carl was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

A special thanks to the hospital team at Erlanger for their loving care and support. Also, thank you to Covenant Funeral & Crematory for all of the arrangements.

The graveside service will be conducted by the Reverend Ronald Ragon on Monday, April 21, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, from 2:30-3 p.m.
