Police have made an arrest in the slaying of Daniel Adams on Pinewood Avenue, charging a man who showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound shortly afterward.
Eric Fitzgerald Williams was charged with criminal homicide and filing a false police report.
Williams entered Parkridge Hospital suffering from a wound to his head on April 3 - the same day as the Adams slaying.
He said he was shot near Ringgold Road and refused to answer any further questions.
Police said Williams was driving a red 2014 Ford Fusion with Florida tags when he went to the hospital. Video obtained from the Pinewood address showed a similar vehicle entering and leaving about the time of the shooting.
Nancy Fortson, girlfriend of Adams, said she came home and found him dead on the bedroom floor. He had been shot multiple times.
Neighbors said they heard a number of gunshots.
Williams, 42, gave his address as Mableton, Ga. He was arrested there and was being extradited.
He is facing charges in Criminal Court before Judge Rebecca Stern of selling marijuana between 10 pounds and 70 pounds.
