Bessie Bolden
Bessie Lee Burns Bolden, 57, died on April 9, 2014 at a local hospital.
She was a graduate of class 1975 from Howard High School.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Queena Bolden, and parents, Velpo Burns and Annie Burns Putman.
Survivors include three children, Kenric Devenport, LeKesha Bolden and Ashlyn Byrd; six grandchildren; three brothers, Calvin Davis, Mirrie and Orlander Burns; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, April 18, at First Missionary Baptist Church of Avondale. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, April 17, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
