Carla Jean Smith, 69, of Dalton, GA, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Carla was born in Whitfield County October 4, 1944 to the late Auther and Earlie Cook Smith; and was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Bill Gentry and Tommy Holsomback.
She is survived by her son, David Boyd of Dalton; grandson and spouse, Robert and Clarissa Boyd; great-grandchildren, Damian Boyd and Callie Boyd; brother and sister-in-law, Shuford and Mary Ann Smith of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Paul Patterson of Rocky Face, Christine Guess and Mae Gentry all of Rocky Face and Birdie Holsomback of Dalton; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tonya Dotsom of Dalton.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 from Lindsey Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Gribble officiating.
