Sarah Frances "Toye" Satterfield, 78, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Saturday morning, April 12, 2014.
Toye was born in Ducktown, TN on May 2, 1935, to the late Jasper and Maggie Lawrence. She had made Cleveland her home for the past 60+ years. Toye was of the Baptist faith and a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was retired for the Cleveland City School System. Toye enjoyed Tennessee football, travel, and eating out, but will be most remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother that cared dearly for her family especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Toye was preceded in death by three sisters, Cosby "Tab" Kincaid, Dottie Livingstone and Iva Lee Gilliam; and one brother, Eugene Lawrence.
Toye is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, James Satterfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Tonia Satterfield and Tony & Denise Satterfield; three grandchildren, Lindsey Satterfield, Cailin Satterfield and Jamie Satterfield; two sisters, Ebba Wallace and Sibyl Smith; special nieces, Nancy Cooke, Teresa Davis and Brenda Queen; and numerous other extended family members, church family and special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Westwood Baptist Church located at 4001 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Jim Caywood and the Reverend Collin Cooke officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, April 15 from 5-7:30 p.m.
The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Don Short, Curt Davis, Scott Hagler, Bob Cooke, Ryan Cooke, Manuel Smith and Mark Kincaid serving as pallbearers. The funeral procession will leave Westwood Baptist church on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m.
