John Lennon Remembered

  • Monday, December 8, 2014

Thirty-four years ago today, John Lennon was shot to death.

I met John Lennon's widow, Yoko, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in New York. I had read in a Billboard Magazine article that John loved the song I co-wrote, "I Can't Stand the Rain." I didn't know how much until I met Yoko Ono that night.

When I introduced myself, I said "Hi my name is Bernie Miller, and I co-wrote "I Can't Stand the Rain."  She jumped up, hugged me and said, "John always wanted to meet you. He loved your song."

May Pang confirmed it in her book about her years with him. Yoko signed a poster of him for me.
