Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet. Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 676.7 feet. The water surface temperature is in the 50’s.
Largemouth Bass: Most bass are being caught on spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and lipless crankbaits. The rig is popular among many anglers. Several fish are being caught and a few large fish are being caught. Shallow sloughs and flats near scattered grass are areas that many are concentrating on.
Smallmouth Bass: Tailwater anglers are catching some smallmouth while using spoons or jigs.
Crappie: Many crappie are being caught around docks with 8 to 15 feet of water underneath them. Some river bluff fish are being caught. use jigs or minnows.
Striped bass: Lower lake fish are being caught at times in shallow sloughs and in the creeks near shad minnows. Spoons and swimbaits are being used most often. 
Bluegill: Several bluegill are being caught while using worms or small jigs along creek channel drops and deep flats.
Sauger and walleye: More walleye are being caught than sauger. Most walleye being caught are not legal size. 
Catfish: Many catfish are being caught in several areas of the river. Meaty baits are being used. Shad is the ultimate bait.

Dale Hollow:  Fishing is good.  Water temperature is 52 degrees; lake is falling.  Sev bass are being caught on jigs and live bait on points in 25 feet of water.  Crappie:  a few crappie are being caught in the rivers around brush piles in 25 feet of water using minnows.  

Great Falls:  Fishing is slow.  Water temperature is 52 degrees; lake is falling. 
Bass:  A few bass are being caught on spinnerbaits around laydown trees in 10 feet of water. 
Musky:  A few musky are being caught on jerkbaits in the rivers in 5-10 feet of water.

Watts Bar:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet. Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 737.0 feet. The water surface temperature is in the 50’s.
Largemouth Bass: Bass are being caught near shad. Some sporadic schooling activity is occurring. Crankbaits are the most used bait with swimbaits coming in at a close second.
Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth bass are being caught by anglers that are fishing for largemouth or just any bass.
Walleye: Some walleye are being caught. Jigs used along the bottom near the tailwater area is the best location and technique.
Sauger: Only a few are being caught. Jigs used along the bottom in the tailwater offers the best opportunity for catching sauger.
Crappie:
Lake areas are the best place to target crappie. Look for brush submerged in water deeper than 12 feet.
Catfish: Drifters in the main channel are catching plenty of fish on shad or other meaty baits.
Striped bass: Shallow coves or the deeper creeks leading into the coves are the better location to find stripers in the middle section of the lake. look for shad and cast swimbaits.
