Mylola Brandt Spivey, 82, of Hixson, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at her residence. 

Mylola  was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 40 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and she had a special love for all her family and church.

Mylola was a Red Bank High School graduate and championship basketball player. She loved music, bowling, and knitting. She had a very special interest in chemistry.

Mylola was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Millard “Mike” Louis Spivey.

She was survived by her daughter Carla (Andrew) Oliver, of Marblehead, MA; son, Timothy (Carolyn) Russell, of Hixson; grandchildren, Sacha Russell Oliver, of Marblehead, MA;  Shawn Jeremy and Timothy Shane Russell of Chattanooga; step-children, Neil O’Donald, Ft. Worth, TX,  Nelson Spivey of Great Falls, MT, and Judy (Steve) Barnes of Plantation, FL;  

A visitation will be will be held from 4–8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home chapel. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Waddell Scholarship Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
