Joh Ryan
John E. Ryan, 71, formerly of Chattanooga, died on December 22, 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was a member of the United States Navy, and was previously employed with TVA, US Pipe, and the US Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Ryan; parents, Rev. Dr. and Mrs. William H. Ryan Sr.; siblings, Rev. Dr. William H. Ryan, Jr., Laney Ryan, Evangelist Bettie Ryan Ringer, Robert Ryan Rose Ryan Findley, and Rev. Dr. John E. McReynolds; and grandchild, Joseph Lewis, Jr.
Survivors include children, Monique (Mike) Ryan, Angela (Clarence) Ryan-Dixon, Terri Ryan, Shannon (Juanques) Ryan Brttian, Alonzo Demetrius Ryan Sr; grandchildren, Travius, Kiara, Zakkiya, Jahvariah and Khamonii Ryan, Kathleen Arthur, Justin, Julia, Jordan and Jaden Lewis, Clarence Dixon IV, Alonzo Ryan, Jr., Lawrence T. Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kerry Reed Jr., Khloe Reed, and Chase Lewis; sisters, Evangelist Mary (Walter) Ryan Cross, and Minister Joyce (Ruebin) Ryan Taylor, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery, gate time 2:30 p.m.
The body will lie in state after noon on Sunday, Dec. 28, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
