Ervin Daugherty
Ervin Lee Daugherty, 80, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his residence.
He was a United States Army veteran. He retired as controller of AMG Ministries and a former employee of Bencor and Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company.
Mr. Daugherty was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus and was the music leader for the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Pauline Daugherty; three children, Cheri (Tracy) Stakely of Columbia, South Carolina; Brian Daugherty of Chattanooga and Michelle (Kevin) Mathews of Ooltewah; five grandchildren, Victoria, Valetta, Devin, Bryson and Bella.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens and Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
