Steve O’Shields, 54, of Guild, TN, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a graduate of Kirkman Tech class of 78, employed with Chattanooga Boiler and Tank, previously employed with Mueller Company for more than 20 years and Chattanooga Coke and Chemical before that. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed spending time on the lake and time with his family and grandkids and he loved Marion Co. athletics and Alabama football (Roll Tide).
He was preceded in death by his dad, Jack O’Shields; his baby girl, Mandy Nicole; his grandparents, Maude and Dewey O’Shields and George and Lorene McKinney; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda O’Shields of Guild; mother, Betty O’Shields of Flintstone, GA; children, Miranda (Daniel) Burt of Rossville, Autumn (Mickey) Robinson of Chattanooga, Clay O’Shields, Brandy (Justin) Vernon of Rossville, Lisa (Ron) Symmonds of Tunnel Hill and Dusty (Michael) Brahnan of Clarksville, TN; siblings, Karen O’Shields of Flintsone, GA, Jackie (David Oehlson) of Seymour, TN and Michael (April) O’Shields of Flintstone; ten grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, including a special niece, Stacy Allen of Flintstone.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Ghandi’s office as well as all of the wonderful nurses at Parkridge Hospital.
Service will at 2 p.m. CST, Sunday, December 21, at Bible Baptist Church with burial following in Sequatchie Gardens. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 20 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. CST at the Tate Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
