E.J. Liebe
E.J. “Joe” Liebe, 82, of East Ridge, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Joe was born on March 14, 1932 in Cabot, Ar., to the late Isom and Mary Ann Liebe. He retired from E.I. DuPont in Chattanooga following 35 years of service.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances Brown, and brother, Buddy Isom Liebe.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Almeda “Peggy” Liebe; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Meghan Liebe of Pensacola, Mike and Deborah Liebe of Trussville, Al., and Larry “Tooter” and Sharon Liebe of Newnan, Ga.; grandchildren, Andy, Rickey, and Joey Liebe of Pensacola, Lorie (Ken) Harmon of Chattanooga, Tara (Brian) Benvie of Atlanta, Ryan (Jennifer) Liebe, Trussville, Al., and Christopher and Lauren Liebe of Newnan, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Lukus and Ayden Harmon of Ringgold, Aaron Liebe, Pensacola, Ryleigh Kate Benvie, Atlanta, and Ella Grace Liebe of Trussville, Al.; sisters, Mary Katherine Liebe of Chattanooga, Sally Carter, Ringgold, Bonnie Fugatt, Chattanooga, and Nancy (Wendell) Norwood, Fort Oglethorpe; brother, John (Debbie) Liebe, Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with entombment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
