With the overwhelming support from residents and businesses in Winchester,Tn., family and friends of Landyn Stratham successfully coordinated a community toy drive and delivered over 1,200 toys to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

Four-year-old Landyn spent many days in Children’s Hospital as he was battling cancer. His family saw first hand the compassion of the staff as they decorated his room for the holidays, brought gifts to distract him from his difficult times and provide food for the family. Landyn fought hard through it all, but lost his battle earlier this year.

In remembrance of Landyn, the staff at the hospital and all the patients, Landyn’s family decided to brighten the holidays for other brave superheroes who are enduring their own medical battles. The community came together and the family not only surprised the staff with their visit to the hospital but also delivered five stretchers full of toys.

“We are so grateful for the hard work and dedication of Landyn’s family to coordinate the toy drive and for the support of the entire community to rally around the family during this holiday season,” said Lois Simpson, Children’s Hospital Child Life specialist.  “This generosity will certainly make the holidays very bright for our patients and their families.”
