Elva Marie Casey-Johnson, 102, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.  

She was born in Atlanta on August 7, 1912  to the late Fred  Hugh and Lizzie Adamson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and she was active with the “Primetimers.” She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star of North Charleston, S.C. and a Past Grand Worthy Matron of South Carolina. She was a member of Woodmen of America Camp 6 in Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Roy E. Casey and second husband, L.J. Johnson; son, Douglas Casey and son-in-law, Bill Quigley.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen (Bud) Davis and Mary Quigley; two sons, Gene (Neva) Casey and James (Jan) Casey; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.                     

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home  with Pastors Kirk Casey, Wade Casey and Mike Mallett  officiating. Active pallbearers will be the great-grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the “Primetimers” at Silverdale Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
