Marie Ellen Tarver, 90, of Charleston, TN, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Alex and Maud Messersmith Miller; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward Tarver; and her daughter-in-law, Cherrie Tarver.
Mrs. Tarver was a member of the St. Therese Catholic Church where she was very active. She was the past Director of Education at St. Therese where she also taught Sunday School. She was also very active in teaching reading to adults.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Campbell and her husband Mark of Benton, TN, Terry Gallaher and her husband Walt of Boise, ID and Monica Michelson and her husband Frank of Hendersonville TN; her sons, Matt Tarver and his wife Esther of Charleston TN., Clay Tarver of Honolulu, Paul Tarver of Salt Lake City and Pete Tarver of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of life memorial service will be held at St. Therese Catholic church at later date.
The North Ocoee St. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral homes has charge of the arrangements.
