Cindy Gail Dickson, 55, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.

She was a Jefferson Award winner and a teacher/volunteer of White Oak Elementary School. Cindy devoted her life teaching and helping educate children, specializing with hearing impaired children.  She was at her best when she was helping others or going on one on her many trips.

Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David A. Bain and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Dickson; grandmother, Mary Shinbahm; sister, Donna Dickson-Azari; cousin, Donald Kris Bain and uncle David A. Bain, Jr.

Survivors are her mother, Deloris Dickson; father, Sydney Dickson and wife Connie Dickson; sisters, Angela D. DeMarcus and Teresa D. Dampier; nephew, Jason Dickson; nieces, Erica Azari-Elayan, Jena Pinson, Kaitlyn DeMarcus, Kaylee Smith and Layla Elayan; aunt, Beverly Bain of Houston; cousins, Greta Bain, Ingrid Lee and Kim Wright of Houston; uncle and aunt, Donald and Tressa Bain and many other cousins and friends, especially lifelong friend, Paulene Davis.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory and inspiration will live on in the lives of those she loved and touched. 

In memory of Cindy, donations can be made to Siskin Children’s Hospital, 1100 Carter Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402, 423 648-1700.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, and 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. 

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home with internment following in Forest Hills Cemetery with Reverend Bill Henry officiating.
