Gwendolyn Earline Pryor McCain, 61, of Jasper, TN, died on Monday, November 24, 2014, surrounded by her loving family..
Gwen was born to late Curtis Henry Pryor and Stella Mae Reed Pryor on October 5, 1953; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Jr.; and a sister, Jewel and Marilyn Pryor.
Gwen was an active member at Randolph United Methodist Church in South Pittsburg, TN. A mother to all, she was well loved and will be greatly missed. Gwen was a leader all her days; she lived, loved, and adored her grandchildren and all those around. She fought the battle with faith, great strength and pride to make things better for all those she knew. It was always an honor for her to cook and fed anyone in a time of need. Her food touched everyone’s soul.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Malcolm Russell “Pawpaw” McCain, Sr.; son, Malcolm “Jimbob” McCain, Jr, of Jasper; daughters, Stacie McCain, of Jasper and Kacy McCain Martin of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Michael and Trez Martin, DeShawn Williams, Aubree Alford, Alayah and Austin Davis, Kesa Harris and Ayannah McCain; siblings, Margaret Spencer, Willie Mae Windham, Karen Pryor, Linda Martin and Clint Pryor, all of South Pittsburg, Deborah Charles of Jasper and Porscha Ann, of Union City; mother-in-law, Arizona McCain, South Pittsburg; brother-in-law, Herschell (Phyllis) McCain, of South Pittsburg; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. CST, Friday, November 28, with Pastor Charles Smelly, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Cumberland View Cemetery.
