Betty Hammack Seesenguth, 85, of East Ridge, Tennessee, died on November 25, 2014 in a local nursing home.
Betty was born in Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga High School. She also attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she was a majorette with the Pride of the Southland Band. Betty worked at Hamilton National Bank and later was a stay-at-home mother who delighted in the lives of her children. She was a member of the Friendship Class at Simpson United Methodist Church in Rossville for over 50 years. Her warm smile and sweet and kind nature drew people to her. Betty’s greatest loves and source of joy were her husband, her children and their families, her many friends, and celebrating the gift of Christmas.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maude Hammack; two brothers, Joe and James Hammack, and sister, Mary Katherine Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald L. Seesenguth; son, William C. (Kathy) Robertson, Jr., Hixson; daughter, Sandra R. (Randy) Womack, Germantown, Tn.; and grandchildren, Jeremy Womack, Matthew Womack, and Sarah Womack.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway with Revernd Janice Keebler officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
