Middle School students volunteered to load and unload the goods collected for the Salvation Army for Thanksgiving.

Again this year, in what has become a tradition, McCallie students and families pitched in to make it a happier Thanksgiving for needy families in the greater Chattanooga community through work done at the Salvation Army.

Upper School students donated money sufficient to purchase 75 turkeys, pitching in through student organizations and their advisory groups.  Middle School students and their parents helped amass a stockpile of the other food items essential for a traditional Thanksgiving meal (the final number ended a bit higher):

98 boxes of potatoes
100 cans of yams
114 cans of green beans
85 cans of green peas
104 cans of cranberry sauce
114 boxes of stuffing
10 gravy mix packets
...and other assorted items

The items were delivered by McCallie students on Friday and the meal baskets will be distributed to families by the Salvation Army.
