Jimmy L. Smith, 67, of Sweetwater, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his residence.
 
He was born in Sweetwater, where he spent the majority of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing carpentry work, painting, and spending time with family and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Smith; and one brother, James Frederick Smith.
 
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy L. Smith, Jr., of Michigan and Richard Smith of South Carolina; a granddaughter, Makayla Smith; five sisters, Virginia Poneleit and Cora Davis, both of Sweetwater, Linda (Kevin) Bedker, of Royal Oak, MI, Jeri Yakust, of Utica, MI and Susan Horn, of Florida; two brothers, William T. Smith, of Ludewici, GA and Earl C. Smith, of North Carolina; three step-daughters, Karen Burns, Regina Burns and Carrie Burns; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 3:00 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Lon Shoopman officiating.
 
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at the Serenity Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
